Conversation Summary

Situation

  • Skoda Transtech needs to train 38 new persons in the coming year to maintain a tram hydraulic unit.
  • A Skoda Transtech lead engineer shows how, what to look out for, the work phases, and how to identify possible hazards.  This takes too much time from the engineers and slows down work, increasing costs.
  • A Skoda Transtech lead engineer doing this will be time-consuming and costly.
  • To reduce the cost, aka, time and effort required of the lead engineers, a digital pre-guided visualisation is needed before new engineers meet the lead engineer on-site.

 

Solution

  1. An online 360° (180°) interactive video where the lead engineer explains the maintenance procedure and its hazards, perfectly combined with interactive hotspot tasks for the learner. The content is intended for use on a computer or a mobile device. If needed, the content can be adjusted for use with VR glasses as a separate project.
  2. A more affordable alternative is to take 360°/180° still images and create hotspot voice-overs from the lead engineer explaining the procedures, combined with interactions that the learner needs to take to advance in the training.
  • Stereoscape will make an offer for both alternatives during December 2025. Production times are 3-8 weeks.
  • The same content can and should be used internationally at Skoda Transtech training and additionally used by sales and marketing to showcase the quality of the maintenance service to customers in sales discussions, trade shows, possibly also on websites and other marketing situations.
  • Stereoscape also offers industrial connected working solutions that Mervi Tarvainen found interesting and could be useful for other Skoda Transtech projects.
